The mission of the Roads and Streets Department is providing high quality maintenance
services in a timely and effective manner to promote the safety and welfare of the city residents.

Responsibilities
31 employees work in the Roads & Streets Department to provide summer and winter street maintenance services on 344 center line miles and over 1,200 lane miles of asphalt and concrete roadway street surfaces. These 31 employees are responsible for the following:

• Pothole patching
• Pavement marking
• Paving
• Rights of way mowing
• Chip sealing
• Sign replacements
• Crack sealing
• Snow removal
• Street sweeping
• Ice control
