Welcome to the Bismarck Assessing Division

The Bismarck Assessing Division is responsible for valuing all taxable property within the City of Bismarck. This is an ongoing process of gathering and reviewing information, measuring and listing new construction, and analyzing sales of real estate to provide accurate and current values annually. These values are used by the County Auditor to calculate property taxes for the city, county, schools, and parks. The goal of the City Assessing Division is to insure that all property values are accurate and equitable.
The Assessing Division also processes homestead credit applications for senior citizens and disabled persons, disabled and paraplegic veteran exemptions, disabled exemptions, wheelchair exemptions, blind exemptions, Renaissance Zone exemptions, remodeling and new business exemptions.
